My name is Michelle Routhenstein and I am the Owner and President of Entirely Nourished, a Nutrition counseling and consulting private practice based in New York City.
I am a Cardiology Dietitian, Preventive Cardiology Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and Certified Diabetes Educator who provides a personalized, whole person approach to optimal health.

WHY TRUST ME?
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Cardiology Dietitian, Preventive Cardiology Nutritionist, and Certified Dietitian and Nutritionist (CDN) in New York State. I am the author of the cookbook, The Truly Easy Heart Healthy CookBook, that is a #1 new release on Amazon. I graduated cum laude from New York University (NYU) with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. Additionally, I completed a vigorous clinical residency and graduated with a Masters of Science Degree in Clinical Nutrition from NYU. I have over 10+ years of experience counseling individuals on chronic disease prevention and management. I currently operate a thriving nutrition counseling private practice with a very high success rate.
I worked in many settings where I reduced individual's risk of heart attacks and strokes by implementing science based, nutrition and lifestyle medicine to improve risk factors associated with heart disease. I have worked on the surgical floor of a level-one trauma hospital in NYC where I optimized nutrition therapy for individuals after stroke, heart attacks, stent placement, orthopedic and gastrointestinal surgery. I managed the Nutrition division of kidney failure centers where I created easy to implement and engaging programs to help people adhere to a difficult renal diet while also taking care of their heart (as that is the number one cause of death among people with kidney disease). I worked with private clients at one of Manhattan’s top nutrition private practices where I created personalized, tailored meal plans, and became a partner and cheer leader for my clients to successfully accomplish their goals. I was also the Head of Preventive Cardiology Specialists at Cardiatrics, a heart telemedicine company, where I worked with an interdisciplinary team of doctors and scientists to develop and implement protocols and lifestyle interventions for individuals with risk of heart attacks and strokes. I am also the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Lapis Health, a mobile app designed to reduce the risk of heart attacks among minority populations.

WHAT MAKES ME UNIQUE?
My passion is empowering others to take control of their health to prevent the occurrence of, as well as the complications of chronic diseases, relying on evidence based medicine. I work with children, adults, and families to reduce their risk factors of suffering from a heart attack, heart disease, and diabetes. Such risk factors include: increased weight, increased waist circumference, obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, prediabetes, diabetes, fatty liver disease, gout, kidney disease, and family history of the aforementioned. I thoroughly evaluate all my clients for nutrition deficiencies and excesses, and create a comprehensive plan to enhance their well-being and quality of life. I create personalized programs and packages with a high success rate.
My goal is for my clients to become their own patient advocate, to understand their bodies, and to be knowledgeable about their health and medical care. I give my clients my full attention, enthusiasm, and knowledge to provide them with the tools necessary to be comfortable in any food situation. From understanding how to read food labels, to navigating grocery stores, to selecting meals from restaurant menus and social gatherings (work dinner, weddings, parties, travel, etc), to selecting/modifying recipes, I strive to provide a clear navigation guide to the complicated nutrition world.
BESIDES BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT NUTRITION, WHAT DO I DO FOR FUN?
During my free time, I can be found spending time with my friends and family, experimenting in the kitchen to create heart healthy recipes for my clients, sweating my butt off on the Peloton bike (follow me: #TheNutritionist), reading nutrition focused research articles (I am a proud nerd), exploring nature with my kids, and practicing yoga.
I currently live in New York City with my amazing nutrition fan club, my husband, Barak, and my three sons, Zach, Jacob, and Evan.
