Welcome! Thank you for visiting!
My name is Michelle Routhenstein and I am the Owner and President of Entirely Nourished, a Nutrition counseling and consulting private practice based in New York City.
I am a Preventive Cardiology Dietitian, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and Certified Diabetes Educator who provides a personalized, whole person approach to optimal health.
I would love to learn more about you! Please feel free to to even say a simple hello.
WHY TRUST ME?
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Preventive Cardiology Dietitian, and Certified Dietitian and Nutritionist (CDN) in New York State. I graduated cum laude from New York University (NYU) with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. Additionally, I completed a vigorous clinical residency and graduated with a Masters of Science Degree in Clinical Nutrition from NYU. I have over 10+ years of experience counseling individuals on chronic disease prevention and management.
I was a dietitian for four years at the renowned private practice of Keri Glassman, Nutritious Life where I also obtained my Nutritious Life Certification. I also was a Clinical Dietitian at several hospitals in New York City, including a level-one trauma center attending to the surgical unit and outpatient hemodialysis center. Additionally, I was the Head of Preventive Cardiology Specialists at Cardiatrics where I worked with an interdisciplinary team of doctors and scientists to develop and implement protocols related to risk management for heart disease in susceptible individuals. I currently see private clients at Entirely Nourished in NYC and virtually.
WHAT MAKES ME UNIQUE?
My passion is empowering others to take control of their health to prevent the occurrence of, as well as the complications of chronic diseases, relying on evidence based medicine. I work with children, adults, and families to reduce their risk factors of suffering from a heart attack, heart disease, and diabetes. Such risk factors include: increased weight, increased waist circumference, obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, prediabetes, diabetes, kidney disease, and family history of the aforementioned. I thoroughly evaluate all my clients for nutrition deficiencies and excesses, and create a comprehensive plan to enhance their well-being and quality of life. I create personalized programs and packages with a high success rate.
My goal is for my clients to become their own patient advocate, to understand their bodies, and to be knowledgeable about their health and medical care. I give my clients my full attention, enthusiasm, and knowledge to provide them with the tools necessary to be comfortable in any food situation. From understanding how to read food labels, to navigating grocery stores, to selecting meals from restaurant menus and social gatherings (work dinner, weddings, parties, travel, etc), to selecting/modifying recipes, I strive to provide a clear navigation guide to the complicated nutrition world.
BESIDES BEING A NUTRITION NERD, WHAT DO I DO FOR FUN?
During my free time, I can be found spending time with my friends and family, browsing food stores for new food products, sweating my butt off on the Peloton bike (follow me: #TheNutritionist), reading nutrition focused research articles (I am a proud nerd), experimenting in the kitchen, volunteering for local charities, and practicing yoga.
I currently live in New York City with my amazing nutrition fan club, my husband, Barak, and my two sons, Zach and Jacob.
